Myrrh
Myrrh has a long-documented history of being highly valued as an herbal remedy by ancient cultures throughout the world. Traditionally, Myrrh was considered to be worth its weight in gold and can be found referenced in ancient texts such as the bible. It is used as a perfume, incense, and an herbal remedy for oral problems. Its resin and extract are burned to induce a meditative state by various ancient cultures. Myrrh is a complex gummy oleoresin extracted from the thorny Myrrh Tree. Its chemical make up is mainly composed of alpha-pinene, cadinene, limonene, cuminaldehyde, eugenol, cresol, formic acid, amongst other sesquiterpenes.
Fragrance
Myrrh Essential Oil’s fragrance is warm and relaxing, complex and uplifting, woodsy and earthy with nuances of Amber.
Frankincense
Frankincense is an ancient herbal remedy whose earliest recorded use can be found in the Egyptian Ebrus Papyrus where it is referred to as a remedy for ulcers, tumors, and oral health problems. It was one of the gifts gifted by the three wise men in the Christian Bible. It is a tree that does not like to be cultivated but likes to grow in Somalia, and must be sustainably harvested carefully. The primary terpenes that make-up Frankincense’s complex aroma are α-pinene, α-amyrin, β-amyrin, β-phellandrene, and camphene.
Fragrance
Frankincense Essential Oil is warm and woodsy, spicy and peppery, with nuanced notes of citrus and rosemary.
Copaiba
Copaiba (Copal) is a fragrant oleoresin producing tree native to Peru and Ecuador. It can be regarded as “The Frankincense of South America”. It was incensed by the Aztecs and Mayans in cleansing rituals, as well as utilized as a dental amalgam, glue, and varnish. It is traditionally burned on lit branches of Palo Santo to disperse the resin aromatically, but with essential oil it is much easier to utilize in a diffuser. Copaiba is a powerhouse of terpenes with over 60 identifiable volatile compounds. It is highly concentrated in Beta-Caryophyllene as well as Alpha-Bergamotene, Alpha-Humulene, and Beta-Bisabolene.
Fragrance
Copaiba Essential Oil’s Fragrance is uplifting and camphoraceous, with subtle nuances of licorice and mint.
