Palo Santo
Palo Santo is a fragrant tree native to Ecuador and Peru, and is traditionally considered a sacred incense for purification and energetic cleansing. It is highly fragrant when incensed and leaves behind a fragrant and woodsy ambience. There are several varieties of Palo Santo, and various species are in danger of over-harvesting to extinction, so it is a plant that requires stringent ethical and sustainable practices around its harvest and extraction. Palo Santo Essential Oil is extremely concentrated in the terpenes Limonene and Alpha-Terpineol.
Fragrance
Palo Santo Essential Oil’s Fragrance is warm and woody with sweet overtones of lemon and herbaceous nuances.
Copaiba
Copaiba (Copal) is a fragrant oleoresin producing tree native to Peru and Ecuador. It can be regarded as “The Frankincense of South America”. It was incensed by the Aztecs and Mayans in cleansing rituals, as well as utilized as a dental amalgam, glue, and varnish. It is traditionally burned on lit branches of Palo Santo to disperse the resin aromatically, but with essential oil it is much easier to utilize in a diffuser. Copaiba is a powerhouse of terpenes with over 60 identifiable volatile compounds. It is highly concentrated in Beta-Caryophyllene as well as Alpha-Bergamotene, Alpha-Humulene, and Beta-Bisabolene.
Fragrance
Copaiba Essential Oil’s Fragrance is uplifting and camphoraceous, with subtle nuances of licorice and mint.
